Grading of coursing events provides a multitude of opportunities for greyhounds to remain competitive.

The grades are as follows:

• PUPPY
  – Open to greyhounds less than two years of age on 1 March of the respective coursing season. Trainers have the option of racing greyhounds that fit this criteria in ‘Puppy’ races for the entire coursing season.
• MAIDEN
  – Open to greyhounds that have yet to win the final of any coursing event. All greyhounds that fit this criteria are eligible to compete in ‘Maiden’ races regardless of their age or form on the circle.
• VETERANS
  – Open to greyhounds aged at least four years (48 months) old.
