Australian Cup finalist to try out coursing

Scatterbox will make his coursing debut on Sunday at Longwood in an effort to get him back to his group-class form.
Lining up in the Werribee Cup, Jeff Galea’s speedster faces a near impossible task in his first course, taking on 2019 Coursing Greyhound of the Year, Barracuda Fozz.
Despite being a last-start winner at Bendigo, Galea said Scatterbox isn’t performing at his best.
“He’s not going as well as he was two or three months ago,” Galea said.
“I’m hoping that taking him coursing will give him some confidence. His bloods are 100 per cent, but he has just gone a bit stale.”
“Hopefully the change of scenery will turn him around.”
Just 27 months of age, Scatterbox has already amassed 45 starts for 10 wins and earned $56,000 in prize money.
Galea also has two other greyhounds coursing on Sunday.
Sarcasmic is one of the last five greyhounds still in contention to win the Derby, while Pretty Lily is one of seven greyhounds remaining in the Oaks series after the early rounds of those events were conducted last Sunday.
