“I’ve got him at his best”: Powell

Reigning champion Making Gravy is cherry ripe ahead of Sunday’s final day of the 2021 Waterloo Cup.
“We’re there,” quipped trainer Adele Powell, pictured above with her star.
“I think he’s a fair chance. There’s a couple of very handy ones in it but I’ve got him at his best and I don’t think I can get him any better so it’s (a case of) crossing your fingers and hope for the best.”
Adele revealed a minor hiccup in Making Gravy’s preparation.
“We had a little bit of an incident last week in the final course as he cracked a nail. But we’re all over that now and we’ve had a gallop and we’re ready and rearing to go. He’s 100% now.”
The first three rounds of the Waterloo Cup were conducted last Sunday, with eight greyhounds remaining in contention for coursing’s holy grail.
The quarter-final action kicks off at 9.30am on Sunday and will be broadcast live via the National Coursing Association’s Facebook Page. Read more HERE
