A wee bit warmer to start the day compared to last weekend where we saw the first two events being slips to boxes (Lang Lang to Healesville) events. The final to be conducted next Sunday at Healesville.
In the first heat we saw a newcomer in Furioso Rick show a clean pair of paws (back and front) in his three runs to claim the event over Is He Lee who is being consistent attending 3 coursing meetings to date. Then in the second heat we saw Funny Old Fellow the 2023 Waterloo Cup winner grace our coursing again. He pulled up a bit sore and was withdrawn from the final leaving Millie to claim the victory.
Heading on to the five maiden events for the day where we have started to grow our greyhounds for Limit Stakes. Some very handy times were run by some very handy greyhounds.
Then on with the 3 puppy events and those trying to qualify for a run in the Derby and Oaks events that re being conducted at Longwood Coursing Club on the 8th and 15th June.
Run of the day awarded by the Race caller was to Matthew Clark’s Jolly Old Mac when he went down in the semi-final to the eventual event winner Altocumulus (that’s a type of cloud).
In all it was a successful coursing meeting and that is all thanks to the wonderful volunteers we have.
No coursing next week but some of our coursing greyhounds will be in the final of the slips to boxes and then it’s off to Longwood for the Derby & Oaks commencing on the 8th June and continuing to the final outcome of the 15th June.

Millie for (O/T) Donald Jarvis (Sydenham) won by a walkover due to the withdrawal of Funny Old Fellow for the Amstel Syndicate and (T) Peter Craig Langwarrin in the final.
EVENT 3 – LARMAX TRADING MAIDEN BITCH
Don’t Blame Me for (O) We’re All Mates Synd and (T) Gavin Clifton (Tynong North) defeated Keep Noise for (O/T) Gordon Edwards (Cranbourne West) in the final.
EVENT 4 – RAM LOCKSMITHS MAIDEN BITCH
Distant for (O) Rubbing is Racing Synd & (T) Leonie Dalton (Coldstream) defeated Talk That Talk for We’re All Mates Synd and (T) Gavin Clifton (Tynong North) in the final.
EVENT 5 – WINNING POST GREYHOUND SUPPLIES MAIDEN DOG
Mile A Minute for (O) Rodney Campbell & (T) Brad Greenough (Pearcedale) defeated Blazing Dino (O) Bro’s In Arm Synd and Shayne Jarvis (Tyers) in the final.
EVENT 6 – HEALESVILLE GREYHOUND RACING ASSOCIATION MAIDEN DOG
Humidity for the (O) Burn Like Us Synd and (T) Ashlee Terry (Lara) defeated Sweet Nugget for (O) Mark Droog and (T) Ricky Jarvis (Tyers) in the final.
EVENT 7 – SANDOWN GREYHOUND RACING CLUB MAIDEN DOG
Zoom Boom for (O/T) Nadine Jack (Lethbridge) defeated Shima Ballad for (O/T) Brad Sands (Pakenham) in the final.
EVENT 8 – MELBOURNE GREYHOUND RACING CLUB PUPPY BITCH
