Coursing is back and what a better way to break a dry spell in Victoria than to start a coursing meet and have the heavens open.
While trainers and volunteers got soaked, we still saw some brilliant racing and some young dogs really strut their stuff. Training honours were split between Neil Lavelle (Cherry Pie and Missy Who) and Peter Craig (Beeline and Blackness Castle) with two winners each. We also saw winners for Chelsi Massina (Choosin’ Texas), Matt Lanigan (Zipping Windsor), Victor Millington (Starbright Hud), Andrew Paraskevas (July She Lied), Les Weekes (Zipping Darla) and Ian Garland (Azzurro). A number of these dogs look like having bright futures with a number of the bigger Puppy and Open Aged races to come.
A big thankyou to the Lang Lang Club on having the track in such fantastic condition and their volunteers who braved the horrendous elements to put on the show. Next week we are back at Lang Lang for the Slips to Boxes heats with the final to be run at Healesville the following week. Supporting races will include maidens and puppy events.
