2nd Classic Win For Sultans of Win

Yesterday saw the Conclusion of our 2nd Classic for the year, the Sylvester Doyle Puppy Championship. We had the Victorian Derby winner Sultans of Win (John Deloroche) up against Oaks runner up Exactly Like Dad (Paul Hammerstein) in a classic final that was taken out by Sultans of Win. He is having an amazing year and now comes the big question, can he take out the Waterloo Cup and collect all 3 Classics in a single year? Won’t be easy but would be an amazing achievement if he was able to. Likely challengers would come from the Ray Boundy Memorial whos final turned out to be an all Massina affair with Yandama managing to get the better of Hatari. Both dogs promise to be serious contenders come the last Sunday in August. The final feature was the Strathbogie Cup which is the one feature on the Calendar for maiden greyhounds. That final was taken out in good style by Star Bluey (Terry Meyer) who will no doubt go on to bigger and better things. Fancy Faye (Ellisa Franklin) continued her great form in winning the All Aged Stakes. Also big well done to Ripped Paige (James Shaw), Dundee Rex (Geoff Scott-Smith), Thank You Brian (James Shaw), Phoenix Tan (Ros Russell) and One Feather (Gary Lane) who managed to break their maidens. We are back at Longwood on the 9th of August for the Longwood Cup before moving back to Lang Lang for this years Waterloo Cup to conclude our season
